Baahubali2 is the Biggest Release in Indian Cinema

This week is loaded with excitement as S.S. Rajamouli’s much awaited film ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ a.k.a. ‘Baahubali 2’ will be hitting the silver screens. Yes, April 28 is nearing and the movie fanatics just can’t wait to watch the magnum opus starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Sathyaraj, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah in lead roles. And the big news for the day is that the film is all set to become the biggest release in the history of Indian cinema, reports a leading daily. Yep, that’s true! The film is going to get released across 8,000 screens and with that the movie has already got a blockbuster start.

A source revealed to the daily the number of screens usually a film gets. And with no other movie releasing this week, there’s no doubt that the figures at the ticket windows will be quite strong. The source told DNA, “Bollywood films run on close to 5,000 screens across the country. In South India, 3,000-odd screens cater to major Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films. Do the math. With no other film (Hindi or otherwise) arriving alongside ‘Baahubali 2’ on April 28, the only face-off in theatres will be the one on screen — between Prabhas and Rana Daggubati.”

‘Baahubali 2’ is a big budget film and above all, it is released in multiple languages. The opening day collection is expected to be in crores and we doubt, any movie would be able to beat that number in the near future. The source further added, “Even if you assume the film releases across 6,500 screens, the first-day collections could well be to the tune of Rs. 60 crore. Also, as April 28 is not a holiday, one cannot expect cent per cent collections all over, but they will be huge. Expect numbers to be in the excess of Rs. 50 crore, at least. Don’t be surprised if numbers turn out to be even bigger since a film has never had such a lavish pan-India release before.”

Despite of all the troubles that the film had even before its release, its not going to stop the fans from watching it. Just can’t wait for the big day! Stay tuned to India.com for more updates.

I would like to apologise for the statement that I had made nine years back and would like to say that I am a small worker in Bahubali film and my comment should not affect the film.
